The Pereira Custom clarinet line was carefully developed in response to rising instrument prices each year. Each upper/lower joint is finished with custom bore and tone hole reamers after initial machining. They're made to sing in symphony orchestras, pit orchestras, and bands, but can also be used in marching band and other outdoor situations, since the materials are NOT susceptible to cracking or changing over time. This instrument was designed with the following points:
- The body, barrels, bell, etc., are extensively hand-finished and voiced to sound, tune, and respond at professional standards
- Choice of barrel/bell/extension set-up to perfectly match your sound concept
- The materials will never crack or change due to temperature or humidity factors, won't require a break-in process, and can even be used in dry/cold weather playing situations
- 2 barrel lengths come standard to provide options for different mouthpieces or different intonation scenarios
- Features an adjustable thumb rest with a neck strap loop
- A tone hole extension (an optional accessory upgrade) improves focus and resonance of the right-hand notes, along with the intonation of E/B and F/C
- The keywork and posts feature thicker silver plating, so the keys are extremely durable and not at all pliable
- A left-hand alternate Eb key comes standard (and is easily removable if you choose to play without it!)
- Those who tend to play low F & E flat (i.e., on a Buffet R13 or similar) can have the option to have a small vent hole in the bell at no extra charge
- A Protec Double Case option for Bb/A clarinets is available (a single case is included standard)
Furthermore, the customer can choose between Balance Synthetic barrels/bell for a budget-friendly option that yields high performance, the "Traditional" Set-Up (Philadelphia barrels and custom bell), or the "Dark" Set-Up (Bold barrels and custom bell) to accommodate their sound preferences. "Traditional" and "Dark" set-ups also have the choice between 3D Blackwood and 3D Mahogany accessories for further customization. 65mm and 64mm barrels are provided with Pereira Custom A clarinets, but custom barrel lengths can be arranged by request.
The upper and lower joints are milled from hard rubber and feature a polycylindrical (R13-style) bore with undercut tone holes. Leather pads are installed, which are long-lasting and provide a warm sound with seamless legato. All Pereira Custom Clarinets come with your choice of either 3D Blackwood or 3D Mahogany barrels/bell/extension. 3D Blackwood provides more focus, center, and "ping" or color in the sound. 3D Mahogany provides slightly more warmth and darkness of sound with a bit more flexibility in feel/response. The optional tone hole extension is placed between the lower joint and the bell and helps focus and control the response while adding more density and core to the sound. It will also help the intonation of the twelfths between low E/F and B/C.
All Pereira Custom Clarinets come with a 2-year shop warranty. The 3D accessories (barrels, bell, and extension) also carry a lifetime structural warranty. There is no mouthpiece included with Pereira Custom Clarinets.
