About Pereira 3D
My company began in 2014 with my first aftermarket barrel. It’s amazing how such a small part of the clarinet can affect every aspect of its performance. I was raised in a household of engineers, constantly learning about the newest technologies and their advancements. It started my work towards finding a barrel to give me a clean, centered, and effortless sound, eventually turning to 3D printing to enhance the level of precision and customization in addition to experimenting with new materials. From there, it expanded to a full range of products that take advantage of such materials, including 3D printed wood materials that never crack, change in dimensions or require a break-in process.
Over the course of 4 years between my undergraduate and graduate work, I was a clarinet repair apprentice. Aside from working in my teacher's repair shop while a graduate student, I was able to experiment with various aspects of setting up a clarinet and test its performance in ensembles. This ranges from pad selection to bumper materials to barrel tapers, and even beveling particular cork pads on the upper joint to affect the way the pad vents. Applying my learnings at the Conservatory turned out to be invaluable. After beginning with making repairs to my classmates' instruments as well as others in the Boston area, I now have a full repair shop in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
In April 2019, Pereira 3D expanded once more into a certified Buffet Crampon dealer. However, I wanted to do more than sell Buffet clarinets, so I fly to Buffet USA headquarters in Jacksonville, FL to pick out the very best clarinets they have to offer. Then, I go the extra mile by removing set-up costs after purchase. Upgraded pads are installed and seal 100%, the mechanism is regulated the way it should be when leaving the factory, pad venting is corrected, and much more. All of this is to stop the notion that you must play through tons of Buffets to find a great one followed by putting in $600 of work straight from the factory.
I am thrilled to offer my comprehensive services for the clarinet. I look forward to helping others become more confident and excited about the equipment they play.
